We had a wonderful Volunteer Appreciation and Open House last month. It was well attended and fun for all. Many thanks to everyone who made it such a success. We hope this will become a yearly event.
Coming up next month is our Volunteer Training. Folks who are interested in becoming Home Visit volunteers are invited to join us for a free three-hour training that is one step in the process of becoming a volunteer. The training will be held at the Hilltown CDC in Chesterfield on May 4th from 1-4. We need your help to get fliers up! If you can spare some time let us know and we will happily provide you with a list of places to hang them up. We are also seeking past families and volunteers to speak at the training. Let us know if you are interested. For those of you who have expressed interest in becoming involved in the behind-the-scenes work of the Hilltown Village coming to the training and helping Anna present it would be a great first step.
There are several families in need of meals right now. Signing up is easy. Be in touch and I will send you the link. Bringing just one meal can be a huge help when there is a new baby in the house.
Also, Maureen’s driveway is clear so getting up to the Village Closet will be much easier now! There is a lot to look through. If you are interested in planning a visit you can contact Maureen directly.
We are making a change to our Mothers’ Group schedule: We will no longer be offering a group at the Cummington Family Center. During 2013 we offered a monthly morning group there and starting in 2014 we changed that to a monthly evening group. Neither group had enough attendance to keep a group at that site going. We are still offering Mothers’ Group every Monday morning in Ashfield at the St. John’s Corner House.
If you haven’t made a donation yet to our annual fundraiser, please do! We accept donations large and small throughout the year. Your donations make The Hilltown Village possible.
